Well, I was heading to get that cup of coffee when I got distracted by my DIRTY Kitchen. So I started on a cleaning binge. When I worked, my house wasn’t spic and span all the time but it was kept up. After I quit my job, my house is still not spic and span BUT I have been deep cleaning things…cleaning closets….finishing up projects, etc. Now that I am back in school, my house is so bad. I haven’t mopped since before Christmas and sweeping the kitchen floor…OMG it needs it so bad that if I don’t do it today, I feel I may have visitors that I do not want. I have a problem organizing my time now with school. It was easy with work…you cleaned on the weekends. Bleck. When I quit, I did stuff every day so all was good. Now, I have to add the “chores” in my planner that I keep for classes. No lie. I have post it’s with what I need to do on it.
Yesterday was one of the most unorganized days I have had in months. I was so stressed that I felt my BP rise and RISE. I was supposed to have a quiz posted for World Lit….well I guess the auto upload for it failed and no quiz was posted till noon. Not that I was ready for that one…and when I saw the quiz finally…OMG…it isn’t a quiz. It’s a freakin TEST! Five essay questions that have 2 parts each. One response paper that had to be one page long.
Ok so, no quiz at first…practice test for a PowerPoint Exam…6 wrong the first time through it. Oh boy! 60 questions took me over an hour! Then off to watch a video for another class…most of these videos have been interesting – this one was not! In between all of this, I was doing 5 loads of laundry (still have 3 beds with bedding to wash.) Then, I remembered I had a doctor appt. in the afternoon. So showered for that and went to it. Two hours of study time lost there. Now the time is going on 4pm.
I finally sit down to work on quiz and it took me till 6pm to do this. I sent it. I hope I got a C. Yes, I should be more confident but I am not. I knew the play and all its themes, etc. but I do not do well on analyzing material like that. I did the practice PPT exam again and 3 wrong. Still an A so…yea. Now it’s 8pm. I think I ate yesterday.
I watched a bit of TV with hubby and then went to BED. I need to be more organized. I didn’t feel my BP go back to normal till bedtime. I laughed when the doctor said my BP was 128/something. It has been 116 since I have been on meds.
SO, today I guess I am making up for being so disorganized yesterday. Oh and Jennifer left her watch here that she needs for clinical so I need to go mail that…wasn’t on the post it!!! Darn! Hahaha.
There will be MANY more days like yesterday, this I know. Moral of the story – make margaritas to relax me while I am studying…no that’s not it…but it’s a good one though! Off I go to answer to the broom and dustpan! (Yea…I get all the fun!)
OH….grade for PPT exam today….100% (I rock!)
It's my life...the ups and the downs...the thrills and the frustrations. It's also a work in progress of who I am becoming. Share with me, the experiences you have had similar to mine...share your opinions even if they are not the same as mine.

Anniversary of a Tumor
Last evening I asked my husband what he wanted to do for his birthday this Friday and he just shook his head and said I don't know. I got to thinking about his upcoming birthday and realized that next month will be one year since he had a seizure and brain surgery to remove a non-cancerous tumor. How lucky we are that he is here to celebrate another birthday. How lucky am I to have him here to complain to and about at times. I still think about that day when he he had his seizure and how it could have been so much worse. He had it at home, on the couch and not in a car driving or on his bike, which he JUST finished riding that day.
God was watching over him for sure and all through the ordeal. I re-learned how powerful prayer is that month as well. Friends were putting him on prayer lists at their churches, my facebook friends sent out prayer chains online and of course we had the support of family. During that same time, my grandmother passed away as well so it was an extra stressful time as well. I wasn't able to help my mom with the funeral and her estate as my husband was having brain surgery.
I have been with my husband for over 31 years...married for 26 of them. We have been together since we were 14...and still going strong. I remember when he was having the seizure, I yelled to him that he wasn't allowed to leave me as we weren't done being together yet...and we aren't.

My Lazy Do Nothing Happening Kind of Day.
I feel like a bum today...hubby worked and now he is outside trimming the shrubs and bushes and tomorrow is will be "practicing" a 50 or so mile bike ride that he is participating in next month. So he will be gone all day. Today, the most productive thing I did was shower. I did balance the checkbook and have lunch on base with hubby. But other than that it's been me and reruns of Beverly Hills 90210 and now LMN has a movie on about a man who kills his wives. I seriously had a whole mega list of things I need to do today. I put my status as completing my To Do list by moving it all to Sunday and so I will get it all done tomorrow. I just cant turn on the TV LOL.
Every so often I have one of these kinds of days, decompressing of sorts - used to be more so when I was working. It just I feel bad in a way, hubby working and all I didn't even do the dishes today. AND we are going out to dinner tonight simply because we received "found money" in the mail. Love that. I do not recall ever filling out the rebate for whatever appliance this rebate was for but they Whirlpool send me a letter a few weeks back telling me I never used the check they sent...ha! I never got one and one of the options on this form was to get a replacement one...so...yep...dinner is on Whirlpool and there is enough on there for maybe two more dinners sometime! Probably should use if for something we need but today I think we need Cracker Barrel.
I also had a panic attack today when I wasn't getting a response back from Valerie today for like six hours...don't laugh now! She finally text me (her phone was on silent) and all is good there.
Anyway, back to my lazy day. I think they are good for clearing out the cobwebs. I mean I am not even thinking about anything...well except how to move that bottle of water from the kitchen without me actually having to get up to get it. Yea...didn't work, I had to get up and then the urge to use the bathroom seems more real than just a thought. Oh and on the way back, I see a few things I need to do in the kitchen and chuckle as I get back to the comfy recliner with my water. Yep, lazy. It's strange but even when I was working and had one of these days, no matter the crap that I was experiencing (oh there was a lot!!) at work, on this kind of day I went blank. It was going to be there anyway come Monday so I choose to do nothing and I mean nothing.
One weekend about a year ago, Mark and I got up one Saturday morning and noticed there was a Law and Order SVU and Criminal Intent marathon on all weekend. We like those two of the series so we settled in with breakfast and watched a few episodes....before we knew it it was mid afternoon. We were still in PJs and had done nothing. We cleaned up breakfast and found a few snacky type foods for the rest of the afternoon LOL. By the time dinner came, Valerie asked what we were having...I was like, um um hmmm....let's order Pizza! Even most of Sunday we did this too...we were such bums that weekend but it felt so good to absolutely nothing. I have this thing about cooking a Sunday dinner so I actually did cook that Sunday. Since that time, we have done marathons with NCIS and House LOL but those were on DVDs and we could pause them if "real life" happened to stop by.
I should be doing something as Mark is just sweating away out there but no matter how hard I blink my eyes, twitch my nose or try to orb to the laundry room or the kitchen it isn't working. Life is good.

For the love of a good book...
Reading has always been a passion of mine and one I have passed on to my children. When I was young, Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet so I had to rely on good old fashion trips to the library to scour encyclopedia after encyclopedia not to mention claiming time on one of the microfilm machines. This was our internet...you could view months of newspapers and magazine articles on the machines. Yes, I have shown my age here but I bet if you are nodding your head you will not admit to that age! Neither do I!
I remember hours of reading and writing down the notes for papers I had to write. I know I must have complained that it was "just too hard" but looking back now, all I can remember is how I enjoyed reading. History, biographies, romances, and of course all the teen magazines with the latest gossip on Shaun Cassidy. It was a treat for me to actually buy a book and the ones that I did I still have. Mostly I checked them out from the library and went back weekly. Nothing like a good book to take you away to places you may never go or to a time where life was simple. Not to mention books passed the time when waiting in a doctor's office and most definitely occupied my girls' time while were waiting anywhere more than 5 minutes!
Free entertainment for the kids was the library or the local bookstore. We would spend hours there and I had to drag them out kicking. There was even a "book game" - one would describe the plot and the rest would have to come up with the title and author. It was a perfect car game! I preferred to buy them a book over a cheap dollar store toy, not to say we didn't have our share of those too but more books. I made the them a promise once that I would never turn them down if they wanted to buy a book. It's come to bite me a few times but I stuck to it. We have our own library! We all have our favorite authors and they do recommend their favorites to me and I read them. Some are great and others left me saying, I wasted some time there!
With the age of the e-books it seems everyone is getting a Nook or a Kindle. Ok I admit, I thought I wanted a Kindle for a few moments. I mean I could carry a thousand books with me at once and not walk like the Hunchback! So before I asked for one for the next holiday, I downloaded one on my Droid. Yes I know, it was not the size or anything like a Kindle but it was similar and it was just a test. The book I chose was The Secret Holocaust Diaries by Nonna Bannister and I loved the book. I read it on my lunch breaks and for a moment I thought a Kindle was in my future but the moment was short-lived. I felt something missing...the feel of a book in my hands, turning the pages (electronically turning isn't the same), the smell of a new book and even the stink of some not so new. It wasn't the same at all. Now I know, some will disagree with me on that but that is what makes opinions - opinions! Perhaps in the future I will have one but there is nothing like snuggling in your bed with a good book or on a cold rainy day cozying up with a good cup of tea and book.

Hello world!
Being new to blogging I hope this does three things for me..,,one - clear my mind; two - gain new insights on my thoughts; and three - meet others who are blogging and enjoy what they write.
If you read my profile about me it says I am married with children but that isn't just all I am. Though, sometimes, it is all I feel I am. Things have been crazy the last few months in my house and my life. You never know what can happen till it happens.
One child in college, one heading there this fall, husband who just had brain surgery to remove a tumor, a job that I love but drives me insane at times and me - who is at a point in my life where I am starting to wonder when is it time for what I want.
My intent with this blog, for the moment, is to clear my head...even if it's just to vent to myself if no one comments, I will have accomplished something. Sometimes you can't tell the person (s) you want to complain about that you are so here I can do that and blow off steam.
This will be boring I am sure to most but it is Life as I know it...
